Moses

,,Also I had told them that Moses died in India in Kashmir. '' [1]

The Story of Moses from the Bible

The entire story of Moses is written in the Bible. Here is a short summary.
Moses lived around 1500 years before Christ. He belonged to the people of Israel, who were slaves in Egypt. The slavery of the Israelites lasted 400 years until God decided to bring them out and give them their own land. Even in slavery, God did not abandon His people; they multiplied and became strong. The Pharaoh issued a command to kill all male firstborn Israelites in order to control the growing number of Israelites. To save Moses, his mother placed him in a basket in the Nile. He was found by the Pharaoh’s daughter, adopted, and raised at the Egyptian royal court.
At the age of 40, he killed an Egyptian who was mistreating a Hebrew. Fearing the consequences, he fled to Midian, where he lived for 40 years as a shepherd and started a family.
At the age of 80, he saw a burning bush that was not consumed. There he encountered God and received his divine mission to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt.
A difficult struggle with the Pharaoh followed, as he refused to let the Israelites go. The famous 10 plagues came upon Egypt, and afterward the Pharaoh reluctantly let them leave.

Moses and India

Moses was the leader of the people of Israel and led them out of Egypt. God’s plan was to bring the people of Israel into the promised land of Canaan (today Israel, the land that had already been promised to Abraham by God). But because the people did not trust God, they had to wander in the desert for 40 years. Moses himself was not allowed to enter the land; he only saw it from Mount Nebo before he died at the age of 120.
Moses was a prophet and the bridge between God and the people. Through him, the people could inquire about God’s will—even though they often did not listen to it.
Moses had a great responsibility; how can it be that he would leave all this behind and go to India? This does not fit with a responsible leader. And Moses is not just any person, but according to Sahaja Yoga, the incarnation of the Adi Guru, which makes him an absolute and unquestionable role model.

Is it even possible?

Moses was already very old during the wandering in the desert: between 80 and 120 years old. Why would such an old man undertake such a long and dangerous journey? A journey into a foreign land where he knows no one and does not speak the language?

What was his motivation?

Why would he absolutely want to go to India? What attracted him there? Was it the spirituality there? Did he want to be close to Hinduism? As a prophet and incarnation, was he not already close to God? Was it not Moses himself who strictly forbade worshipping other gods? Moses brought the 10 Commandments from Mount Sinai, and the first and most important commandment is: ,,I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me.''

Foreign Gods

Moses forbade the Israelites to serve foreign gods. But while he was on Mount Sinai receiving the Ten Commandments, the people made a golden calf, which symbolized a divine power. This idol represented a serious violation of God’s commandments. As punishment, the Israelites had to wander in the desert for 40 years until only the next generation was allowed to enter the promised land.

The following quote from Deuteronomy chapter 13 emphasizes how important it is not to worship foreign gods.

Moses Was Not Perfect

As the incarnation of the Adi Guru, Moses should be a perfect personality, an absolute role model. Yet in the biblical story we read that he also had flaws. It is even an interesting observation that in the Bible all people were not perfect and had flaws.
Except Jesus; according to the Bible, he was the only one without sin.
In Islam, all prophets such as Moses, Abraham, or Mohammed are considered faultless. In Sahaja Yoga as well, incarnations are by definition without flaws.

Moses does not feel capable of fulfilling the task given by God:

When Moses was called by God, he did not feel capable of fulfilling his task and even refused. The following quote is from Exodus chapter 4 verse 1.

📌 Exodus Chapter 4

God entrusted Moses with the task of freeing the Jewish people from slavery—an impossible task for a human being. But Moses did not feel capable and considered himself not very eloquent. God even became angry with him, for God knows whom He chooses. Moses’ reaction is very human, because we humans have our weaknesses and imperfections. But it does not fit with a perfect personality who is the incarnation of the Adi Guru. Despite these weaknesses of Moses, God chose him, because God sees the potential of every person and not only what the person is at the moment. With God, a path to growth opens.

God Punishes Moses

During the wandering in the desert, water became scarce, and the people doubted that God would provide for them. So Moses asked the Lord for water. The Lord commanded him to gather the people and to speak to the rock so that it would give water. Moses gathered the people, but instead of speaking to the rock, he struck it twice with his staff. As a result, a large amount of water flowed out of the rock.
The decisive difference between God’s instruction and Moses’ action was that Moses did not obey and thereby created the impression that the power to bring water out of the rock came from himself and not from God. In doing so, he did not give God the honor.
As a consequence, Moses was not allowed to enter the promised land. Only after his death did his successor Joshua lead the Israelites there. This is a punishment for his disobedience. It does not fit with an incarnation being punished by God.

Conclusion

Moses was the leader of the people of Israel and led them out of Egypt. His task was to bring the Israelites into the promised land. He brought the 10 Commandments and strictly forbade serving other gods besides the Lord.
It is implausible to claim that Moses would have left all his responsibility behind and traveled to a foreign, distant land in order to live there.
India was a land of Hinduism. The first and most important of the 10 Commandments that Moses received is: ,,I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me.'' This most likely includes the Hindu gods as well.
Moses was a great prophet, but he also had flaws and weaknesses like all human beings. This does not fit with an Adi Guru, who is an incarnation.
The Bible, however, teaches a very realistic image of human beings. It is healing to know that every person has flaws and weaknesses. It prevents their deification. It allows the person Moses to come much closer to oneself.
